Blue glass (BG, IR absorbing glass),
It can effectively filter infrared rays, restore the true color of the object, and greatly improve the quality of photography. At present, blue glass has replaced the traditional infrared cut filter (IRCF) as an essential optical component for smartphone lens modules. However, blue glass has the natural disadvantages of limited thickness, material of EU high concern, and high price.
"In order to solve the above-mentioned natural shortcomings of blue glass, several major dye optics manufacturers in Japan have introduced absorbable photoresists, which are coated on glass and combined with IRCF, called blue-like glass. In addition to blue glass, blue-like glass not only consist original ability to absorb infrared light, it also solves the shortcomings of blue glass, such as high cost, high energy consumption, thickness limitation, and loop measurement hours that do not meet the requirements of the vehicle system."
According to the characteristics of blue glass, there are two applications: Single band filter for RGB sensor & Dual band filter for RGBIR sensor.
BCG (Single Band Filter)
ABG (Dual Band Filter)
